Inside Mumbai Tours is a Must, to get a True glimpse of Mumbai
I have to say hand on heart! Inside Mumbai tours, was the highlight of our 3 week trip around India!
We wanted a personalized tour around Mumbai, which would give us a true insight into the communities working & living in one of the many slum in India. This tour certainly delivered that and more.
We were unsure of what to expect. We contacted Mumbai Tours via email. Mohammad was very professional from the outset! He replied quickly to our questions, forwarded a detailed itinerary of where we would visit. (Which was VERY flexible to our requests)
Our personalised tour included, Dharavi slums (where the film slumdog millionaire was shot) Mumbai’s fishing community, A Mumbai laundry alongside many other interesting places.
As Mohammad is a local student who lives in the Dharavi slum, he gave us a true insight into the community. We were welcomed with tea, coffee, kindness, LOTS of smiles & played cricket with the local children. We were also honoured to be invited inside Mohammed’s home
From the moment we met Mohammad, he was a delight to be around, his knowledge throughout the tour of Mumbai was superb. (At the end of the tour, ask him how he became a tour guide!! It’s fascinating)
If you do ONE thing in Mumbai it has to be this tour!

Amazing Personalised day tour of Mumbai and Dharavi!
We are so pleased we contacted Mohammad and arranged a full day’s tour of Mumbai, including the Dharavi Slum. I would recommend Mohammad to anyone who wants to experience the real India with a helpful and friendly guide who grew up and lives in Dharavi. We are a family of three and wanted to see the main sights of Mumbai and especially Dharavi (my 15 year old daughter is studying it in Geography).
Mohammad put a great day together for us, from picking us up at our hotel in a lovely air-conditioned people carrier, to organizing the entire day of sights and experiences. First stop was Dharavi and we saw the amazing work that goes on there, as well as everyday life. We felt very safe and welcome, with the residents as keen to question us and we were keen to find out about them. Next stop was the Dobi Ghat open-air laundry, which was amazing too. We also saw all the iconic Mumbai sights, including Crawford Market, Victoria Terminus, India Gate, Ghandi’s house, etc..
We were driven to each sight by the amazing driver Mohammad had arranged, and Mohammad took us around each sight and explained everything. Mohammad really goes the extra mile to make sure you enjoy yourself and feel comfortable. We particularly liked that Mohammad only took us where we had asked to go – so many other India tour companies take you to ‘shops, etc’ where they received commission. He’s a charming guy, with an amazing story of how his tour guiding started. He’s supporting his family and funding his degree, as well as helping his community. Definitely try this tour out.
